Come on you irons: I see you disagree with my point on Moyes. Calling me a cunt just shows your level of debate. Take a note from others on here who also disagree but make their views more convincingly.

I was in the corner where Benrahma took a corner that didn't get two foot above the ground, how the fuck can a professional footballer do that? In fact the majority of corners were shit.

Conte drops Son and he plays out of his skin yet Dour Dave continually plays Soucek and Bowen who were absolutely gash yesterday.

1) I know (for a fact) what is wrong with his hip. He won't be getting to those low shots, especially to his right.

2) The keeper that will have to play next year might as well be acting now, he's more than capable and experienced. Fabs has to be phased out, and should be playing in the cups.

It would help if Areola wasn't being told to stop his natural game - look back at his time at Fulham. He plays far higher up and likes to distribute the ball. He's being shackled.

cant take a single positive from yesterday, or even the season... really poor individual and team contributions throughout- started with the wrong team and the changes are like for like

so slow on transitions , technically poor in the tackle, corners, even fucking throw-ins

Why sign paqueta and then have him spend ten minutes as a semi left back giving away fouls and chasing the ball around

How does soucek even make the team bus let alone start

Moyes needs to sit in a room with whiteeboard and come up with a new plan

"Looking for the team to find their form " aint working and hasnt since January

Who is coaching the corner takers? Fucking awful, and hitting the first man every time is un forgivable!! We did not look like scoring from any yesterday. As for Fornals, he can just fuck right off!!

Exactly Sir Alf. The existing players are not performing but what is a worry is that neither are the new players. It's also confused by players being played out of position.

For me our best players up front should be Scamacca with Antonio and Bowen on flanks. Cornet and Benrahma can fill in or take the place of anyone not up to scratch but we need to be working towards that line-up NOW! It would create havoc in opposition defences and if Scamacca isn't up to it then why'd Moyes spend £35m on him? Keeping him on the bench while Antonio battles away out of position and Fornals plays left wing is too painful.

Soucek, Lanzini and Fornals have had too many chances and needed resting weeks ago. First choices should be Rice - Paqueta - Downes. That line-up should add mobility and passing. That's a £160m midfield and it seems obvious to me that to play others is just confusing Moyes from what should be obvious. How does Downes feel after a MoM debut and no hint of more minutes on pitch .

Back four has to include Dawson at moment surely? For me Dawson will stop more goals than Kehrer and should be the one partnering Zouma at moment.

Kehrer plays RB for Germany I believe? I'd look at him there when opportunity arises. Coufal is game but lacking a bit. Moyes tried to sign Wan-Bissaka and after Man Utd said no we didn't try elsewhere...

Is Emerson any better than Cresswell? I'm sure £15m could have been spent more wisely on a LB but he has to get the chance to show what he can do sometime.

Moyes seems mightily confused to me. He clearly has no idea what his best 11 will be yet he repeatedly claims he is in charge of signings. I'll bet a new manager coming in would soon sort out Moyes hapless mess...

I would line up with a 4-1-4-1 formation keeping the lines tight in between. This may seem defensive but of course is devastating in short bursts on the counter when it becomes a 4-3-3. Shock, horror but this can also be achieved by passing the ball on the deck.

This is what I believe Moyes would like to do but he's just not good enough to implement it. A man's gotta know his limitations as somebody famous once said.

Soucek isn't as bad as we think. He just needs to be the man that sits in front of the defence and breaks up play and gives the simple pass. At the moment he is a headless chicken who doesn't know what his true role is. That is down to the manager expecting him to be a cross between Lothar Matthaus and Diego Maradona.

Areola
Kehrer Zouma Aguerd Emerson
Soucek/Downes
Bowen/Antonio Rice Paqueta Cornet/Benrahma
Schmacca

the one man press does not work David. Why bother? Antonio would be better used in the last 30mins when he can bully defenders.

Our attacking 'plan', if you can call it that, seems to be the fullbacks crossing the ball (into who, who knows?).

Why do those fullbacks seem to have been coached in such a way that they don't realise that they need to make a yard of space against their opposition before attempting a cross? The ball cannot go through players. It will hit them. The same players also seem to not be aware that looking up and checking whether a player is actually in the box is a necessity. Finally, it would also help to aim it near where our players are, not just loft it up into the air. Sometimes a quicker ball flashed across the face of the goal is better than a lofty hanging ball. And comes from practice and teaching.

Shit coaching.

Moyes sets up as if he's absolutely terrified of the opposition' no matter who we play . And it's seeped into the minds of all our players. They look terrified of taking any risks . Our attackers are our best players rice apart. yet were set up way too defensively every time it's no surprise Bowen looks completely devoid of any confidence and no doubt cornet scammaca and paqueta will go the same way .

Re: ⚽ Everton v West Ham - Official Match Thread - Preview
For me the midfield remains as the biggest problem even though defence is not perfect the inclusion of Aguerd when fit or Ogbonna will help and replacing Coufal with Johnson is a no brainer.

Midfield though is a problem with Soucek, Fornals and Bowen struggling, Paqueta wanting too much time and space and alongside Rice as a unit that is unable to control games without the movement and accurate passing to keep the ball and without the collective pace to press effectively and get it back.

Other issues add to this problem like Antonio’s passing and him giving it back to the opposition cheaply but that midfield needs to be fixed to change our fortunes.

There needs to be players in there who all pass accurately and another player with strength, pace and technique. Downes looked very promising when in Europe but can he do the same with the intensity and pace and pressing in the Premiership? We won’t know until it’s tried.

A player like Phillips who obviously preferred a move to City even though it will take time to play regularly, would have been ideal. Even with Downes. We need Rice and his partner to start controlling games and keep possession, all midfield moving and pressing so we can play out from the back.

I am not sure with the 7 players we brought in that we have the quality to do that but we won’t know until the they play.

Moyes has slagged his regulars now. The results give him the excuse to bring the new lads in without those regulars saying they were just replaced without a reason.

Moyes will make changes now I think as he is backed in a corner due to results. If he doesn’t he will get the sack because those regulars have not produced results in the league for the last 30 games.

Re: ⚽ Everton v West Ham - Official Match Thread - Preview
Not engaging opposition players who have the ball, closing down the space and actually getting a foot in, has been a problem tactic for almost 12 months. It's obviously coached into them that all they have to do is get into position and block off the forward pass opportunities. Opposition players just either run with the ball past our players or make a slight adjustment and get their pass away. We hardly close down wide players and prevent crosses coming in, just relying on dealing with the ball via the centre backs or keeper, or the cross being inaccurate. Timid, not front foot, football. Do everything you can go stop them, is the same as do everything you can to impose yourself on them.

Oh, I totally agree, was just pointing out for good or bad Moyes just doesn't seem to trust his new signings. It's almost like he didn't want them but just felt that he needed to flash the cash. He clearly didn't get his main targets, Onana, Lingard, Zielinski maybe and felt he need something so went out and got players that weren't even on the radar 6 months ago. A similar pattern with the likes of Benrahma and Vlasic, players that rarely get an opportunity in their favoured position. I didn't rate Vlasic but he was clearly not a wide player so why buy him? It's odd as I say that Downes just doesn't get a chance. Are these players being told that they are coming to be starters or back up?
